Fred R. Arrington Jr.

Candler Fred Robert Bud Arrington, Jr., 78 passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Laurels of Hendersonville. A native of Haywood County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired on June 9, 1997 from the US Army as a Staff Sergeant and also had served in the US Navy Reserves. Mr. Arrington was the son of the late Fred Robert Arrington, Sr. and Ruby Helen Lindsey Arrington. Surviving are his sons, Fred Robert Arrington, III of Knoxville, TN, James Kevin Arrington of Candler and Tracy Robert Arrington of Denver, CO; step sons, Jeff Bowman and Jack Bowman both of Candler; grandsons, Tyler Arrington and Matthew Bowman and great granddaughter, Gracie Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, March 14, 2016 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Stephen V. Oxner officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
