Fred Morrow

Woodfin – Fred William Morrow, 92, of 22 6th Street, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the NC State Veterans Home in Black Mountain. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County, was a plumber, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a son of the late Lyda and Annie Mae Crabtree Morrow and husband of Mildred Louise Davis Morrow who died June 8, 2019. Surviving are his children, Randy Morrow, Ricky Morrow, Rhonda Morrow, Ron Morrow and Rex Morrow; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Sluder and Rev. Mike Freeman officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Team. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Friends of NC State Veterans Home Trust Fund, 62 Lake Eden Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
