Franklin D. Mcghee

Asheville - Franklin Dee McGhee, 66, of 8 Magnolia Ave. died Saturday, February 15, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A lifelong resident of Buncombe Co., he was the owner/operator of Broadway Grocery. He was the son of the late Columbus and Altha Penley McGhee and he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Snelson and his brother, Arthur McGhee. Surviving are his sisters, Helen Hensley, Edith Barrett, Faye Davis, and Altha Langford all of Asheville and Margaret Collins of Marshall; brothers, Robert, Vernon, and Joe McGhee all of Asheville; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew, Janet and Jeff Foster with whom he made his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
