Woodfin - Frances Morrow Rice, 92, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 after a brief period of declining health. A native of Haywood County, she had lived in Woodfin 80 years of her life. She was the daughter of the late George Frank and Nannie Helen Morrow and step father, Samuel M. Morrow. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, J. Carmel Rice, who died in 1987; three brothers, Dewey A. Morrow, Thomas E. Morrow, Clarence H. Morrow; one sister, Frances Alice Morrow. She worked a brief time at American Enka and graduated from Blantons Business College. Frances was a loving and caring homemaker and she and her family were charter members of Richland Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her family of nieces and nephews are long time friends and caregivers, Ed and Lynn Chambers. Her nieces and nephews include Clarence H. Morrow, Jr., Peggy Nations, Betty M. Little all of Canton, Nancy Crabb of Indiana, Isabelle Giovinazzo of New York. Frances legacy is the inspiration she gave us and the changes she brought about in the lives of those who loved her. A special thanks to Joan Young, Wanda Arrington and Linda and Bruce Wells for their love and devotion to Frances. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 13 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will be at West Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Bryan Chambers, Brady Chambers, Bob Chambers, Charles Silver, Russell Rhodes and Bruce Wells.
