Frances Holcombe

Asheville - Frances Gertrude Pike Holcombe, 88, died Thursday November 27, 2008 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Mars Hosiery Company as a supervisor. She was the daughter of the late Marion Lewellyn and Gertrude McDaris Pike and the wife of the late Victor Smith Holcombe. She is survived by her son, Victor M. Holcombe and wife Vien of Houston TX and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Ray Travis officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
