Frances Fox Rathburn

Asheville – Mary Frances Fox Rathburn, 83, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Rathburn was a 1957 graduate of Biltmore High School. She was a former CNA with Highland Farms, and retired form Mills Manufacturing in 1989 following 33 years of service. Mrs. Rathburn was the daughter of the late Coleman Charles and Stella Ann Campbell Fox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gerald Rathburn, Sr., who passed away July 22, 1989; sisters: Betty Fox, Barbara Fox, and Evelyn Fox; and brother, Gene Fox. Surviving are her son, Ray Rathburn, Jr. (Cheryl) of Arden; granddaughter, Tabitha Hudson of Arden; great-grandson, Jayden Hudson; sisters: Sadie Pressley of Bent Creek, Vivian Dyer of Woodfin, and Helen Fox of Hendersonville; sister-in-law, Doris Dorsey of Woodfin; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 15 at Elk Mountain Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Lewis officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Rathburn’s family with her final arrangements.
