Frances Austin

Asheville Frances Lucinda Powell Austin, 90, of Asheville, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Aston Park Healthcare. A native of Lockhart, SC, Mrs. Austin had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired from the Buncombe County School System as a cafeteria worker, and was a member of Aaron Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. Mrs. Austin was the daughter of the late Boyce James Willard Powell and Bonnie Belle Revis Powell, and was also preceded in death by two sons: David ONeal Austin and James Dennis Austin. Surviving are her husband of 74 years, Morris Clyde Austin; children: Morris (Charlie) Austin and wife Joyce, Sandra Ingle, and Ronnie Austin and wife Annette; sister, Margaret Bishop; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 8 great, great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Aaron Baptist Church, with the Rev. Josh Ingle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of Aston Park Healthcare for the loving care Mrs. Austin received during her stay.
