Faye Fox Hickman

Asheville - Faye Fox Hickman, 91, of 32 Lee Avenue, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007 at her residence following a period of declining health. A native of Yancey County, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past 70 years. Faye loved to cook, tell stories and tend to her flowers. She was of the Methodist faith. She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Julia Anne Edwards Fox, and the widow of the late Thomas Leland Hickman. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Fox and two sisters, Kate Fox Borders and Anne Fox Ball. Surviving are her children: Sybil Anne Page of Georgia, Thomas Leland Hickman, Jr. and Sandra Wallace, both of Asheville; her twin brothers, Ernest and Ellis Fox, both of Asheville; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Worth Emory officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
