Evelyn Slagle "Aunt Jo" Wilson

Fairview - Evelyn Josephine Slagle Wilson, 92, of 101 Spring Mountain Road, died Friday May 16, 2003 at Asheville Health Care. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a charter member of Cedar Mountain Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Solomon Monroe and Grace Leota Shroat Slagle and wife of the late Cecil William Wilson. She was also preceded in death by a sister and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Pat McKinney and husband, Robert of Swannanoa; granddaughter, Tiffany Harwood of Asheville; sister-in-law, Louise Slagle of Black Mountain and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Page and Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Pat McKinney, 221 Richmond Ave., Swannanoa.
