Evelyn Pike Plamondon

February 22, 1915 — March 10, 2002

Asheville - Evelyn Pike Plamondon, 87, of 72 N. Market Street, died Sunday March 10, 2002 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, Black Mountain. A native of Baltimore, Md. She had resided the last 70 years in Buncombe County and was a member of Cumberland Ave. Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Dr. E.L. and Grace Wootton Pike and wife of the late James C. Plamondon. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Jean Tanner and Henrietta Pettit. Surviving are her sisters, Shirley Swilling of Asheville, Lucille Penley of Weaverville and Caroline P. Metcalf of Black Mountain; brother, Exum L. Pike of Newport, RI and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral home with Rev. Earl Jones officiating. Her family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Cumberland Ave. Baptist Church, 119 Cumberland Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
