Evelyn Joan Taylor Hensley

Weaverville - Evelyn Joan Taylor Hensley, 64, of 888 1/2 Barnardsville Hwy. died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. A native of Greenville County SC, she had lived in Buncombe County most of her life and was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Robert and Vluarie Shelton Taylor of Weaverville and she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Jerry Taylor. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, J.D. Hensley of the home; son, Ronny Dean Hensley and wife June of Fletcher; daughter, Joyce Ann Hensley of the home; sisters, Carolyn Foster of Asheville and Barbara Jean Fender of Fletcher; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anderson Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Ivy Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
