Evelyn H. Robinson

Weaverville – Evelyn Marjorie Hill Robinson, 98, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2023, at her residence.

A native of Buncombe County, she previously worked for Southern Bell, Gorham Silver Plant and retired from the Asheville-Citizen Times as a telephone operator. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of the late William Mitchell Hill and Lula Mae Eller Hill and was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Blake Robinson and grandson, Brandon Greene.

Surviving are her children: Rita Mainer and husband Daniel, Sharon Robinson and husband Jeff, and Darla McMinn and husband Gene; grandchildren: Mischelle Miller, Stephanie Mainer, Michael Dewaine Nix, Stephen Mainer and wife Kim, Tracie Griffin and husband Robert and Jonathon Greene; great grandchildren: Nicholas Reynolds, Franklin Miller, Rhiannon Miller, Lily Mainer, Emma Mainer, Knox Greene, and Kason Greene; great-great grandchild, Kora Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 12, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends from 1 till 2 PM Friday at the church prior to services.
