Evelyn Craig Redmon

Asheville Evelyn Craig Redmon, 87, of 86 Webb Cove Road went home to be with her Lord Monday, November 21, 2005 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mrs. Redmon was a daughter of the late Charlie Felix and Lelia Mattie Jones Craig and wife of Lonnie Sowers Redmon who died September 11, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dollie Lucille Hollifield Ledford and Josie Bell McKinney; brothers, Charles Henry Craig, Clifton A.T. Craig, Lewis Edward Craig and Horace Craig. She was formerly a cook at Claxton Elementary, Ira B. Jones and David Miller Jr. High and a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Darlene Redmon Wyatt and Dan B. Wyatt of Asheville; grand daughter, Kimberly Doupe of Asheville; great grand daughter, Meaghan Doupe of Asheville; brother, Franklin Theodore Craig of Fairview; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Moseley officiating. Pallbearers will be Adrian Wyatt, Robert Stephan, Charles Craig, Clifton Craig, James Walker and Clifford Shelton. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park.
