Evelyn Chapman Brown

Candler - Evelyn Chapman Brown, 88, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at her home in Candler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Della Mae and Barney Fulmer Chapman; and her husband, John Henry Brown, who died in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers: Buddy and Weaver; and three sisters: Frances, Anna Mae and Magdalene. She is survived by her two sons: John Richard Rusty Brown and wife Rosemary and Gerald Keith Jerry Brown and wife Patsy; three daughters: Janice Elaine Brown, Louise Brown Fontaine, and Constance Connie Ann Brown; grandchildren: Kimberly Brown Anstine, Kerri Brown Edwards, Melanie Brown Hudson, Jennifer Brown Ogle, Brandy Fontaine Martin, and John Paul Fontaine; twelve great-grandchildren; and special niece, Ann Chapman. Evelyn was a member of the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild and Oak Forest Presbyterian Church for many years. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. David Morgan officiating. Graveside services to follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
