Eva L. Meares

Candler Eva Elmeda Lindsey Meares, 80, of 95 Holcombe Cove Road, went to be with her Lord, Monday, March 13, 2006 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Haywood County and a resident of Buncombe County most of her life. Mrs. Meares was a homemaker and a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Marcus Thurman Lindsey and Maggie Lou Lindsey and the wife of Charles Barksdale Meares who died in 1970. Surviving are her daughters Sandra Meares of Columbia, SC and Rebecca N. Lance of Asheville; son, Charles D. Doug Meares of Asheville; grandchildren, Chantell Garland, Jennie Meares-Farren, Kristin Marzol, Kendra Norton, Angie Craig and Dillon Norton; 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. James Johnson and Rev. Dave Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
