Eva H. Allen

Swannanoa Eva Gertrude Henderson Allen, 92, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012. Mrs. Allen was a native of Madison County and had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She retired in 1985 from Beacon Mfg. Co. following 30 years of service, worked part time at Sams Club and was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Rufus Garland and Susie Frady Henderson and wife of Herbert Cleo Allen who died April 17, 1986. Surviving are her daughter, Joann Nesmith of Leesburg, FL; sons, Bobby Joe Allen of Santa Rosa, CA and Edward Eugene Allen of Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Sally Henderson of Santa Rosa, CA. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Sausedo officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
