Ethell Connor Lamb

February 7, 1918 — December 21, 2008

Hickory Ethell Mary Connor Lamb, 90, of 904 2nd Street N.E., passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008. A resident of Buncombe County most of her life, she had resided in Hickory for the past 3 years. Mrs. Lamb retired from NOAA as a Key Punch Operator and was a member of the Church of the Redeemer where she served on the Alter Guild and Vestry. She was the daughter of the late James Coy and Lillie Mae Baldwin Connor and the wife of the late Arthur Alexander Lamb, Sr. Surviving are her sons, Arthur A. Lamb, Jr. and wife, Kaye L. of North Wilkesboro and James Lamb and wife, Kathy of Newton; granddaughters, Elizabeth Lamb-Scronce of Hickory and Leslie Lamb of Asheville; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Connor of Woodfin. Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Church of the Redeemer with Father Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:15 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
