Ethel Mae Mcabee

Fairview - Ethel Mae Reed McAbee, 95, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Fleshers Fairview Health Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. McAbee was the daughter of the late John Benjamin and Cora Cordelia Hill Reed, and the widow of James Arvel McAbee. Surviving are her daughters: Dora McAbee Camby and Shelby McAbee Davis, both of Fairview; two grandchildren: Melanie Jean Roddy and Jeffrey Dean Camby; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Whitted officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Dora McAbee Camby.
