Esther "Aunt Bud" Calhoun

ASHEVILLE - Esther Aunt Bud Silvers Calhoun, 93, formerly of Leicester, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Western Carolina Baptist Home. A native of Haywood County, Mrs. Calhoun had resided in Buncombe County since 1941. She was the daughter of the late William Harvey and Zora Lee Sutton Silvers, and was the wife of the late John Inman Calhoun. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Elsie Head, Flora Gregg, Lucy Queen, May Davis, and Jessie Shapard; and brothers: Raymond and Robert James Silvers. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Locust Field Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
