Ervin Sams

Asheville - Ervin Sams, 77, of Arrowhead Apts. passed from this life to life everlasting on Tuesday, March 4, 2003. A native of Madison Co., he served as a Staff Sargent in the US Army Medical Corp. during WW II. Mr. Sams was the son of the late Rev. Dell and Josie Ramsey Sams. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne and Bob and sisters, Marie, Ruth, and Neta. Surviving are his brother, Bill Sams of Asheville; several nieces and nephews and his extended family at Arrowhead Apts. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Elk Mtn. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
