Ernest Mills

Asheville - William Ernest Mills, Sr., 81, of 8 Sun Haven Drive died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was formerly employed with Pattersons Oil Co., was a member of Aaron Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of W W II. Mr. Mills was the son of the late Grover Ernest Jimmy Mills and Creta Mae Boyd Mills and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Mills and Jack Mills Surviving are his wife, Willie Marie Price Mills of the home; daughters, Carolyn Pritchard of Asheville and Marie Metcalf of Spartanburg, SC; son, William Ernest Billy Mills, Jr. of Asheville; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Stephenson, Rev. Wendell Runion and Rev. Travis Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team.
