Ernest Charles Redmon

July 19, 1950 — March 9, 2003

Alexander- Ernest Charles Redmon, 52, of Alexander, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 9, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Redmon was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was the son of the late Scott and Bessie Redmon. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Patty Redmon of the home; one son, Scott Redmon, owner of Universal Service, of Horse Shoe; two daughters, Tammy Redmon of Alexander, Police Officer with DHHS Police Department in Black Mountain and Stephanie Revis, housewife and mother of 3, his baby daughter who he adored, of Leicester; four grandchildren, Felicia Revis, Paul Revis, III, Jessica Goodwin and Clifford Revis; brother, Tommy Redmon and wife Diana of Asheville. Mr. Redmon graduated in 1968 from Erwin High School and was a member of Erwin Hills Baptist Church. Gospel music was in his blood since a very young age. He was the pianist for The Peacemakers, and sang with The Singing Patriots and The Gatesmen. He was also the pianist for Friendship Baptist and Erwin Hills Baptist Church. He worked as an HVAC Technician for the State of North Carolina for 10 years and was currently employed with M.B. Haynes Corporation in the Heating and Cooling Division. He was also the Crew Chief for his sons racing team. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Joe Honeycutt and Allison Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home. You may send memorial contributions to the Brian Center.
