Erma Embler Buckner

Alexander - Erma Marion Embler Buckner, 97, of 1573 Jenkins Valley Road died Wednesday - August 17, 2005 at her home after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Hardy and Laura Melton Embler and the wife of the late Frank Herman Buckner. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rex F. Buckner. Surviving are her son, Ray Buckner and wife Pat of Asheville; brother, Maurice Embler of Kingston, TN.; grandson, Jake Buckner and wife Felicia of Leicester; step grandchildren, Bryan Franklin and wife Tracie, Leslie R. Williams and husband Travis and Jessica Reynolds. She has loved and helped family and friends and has offered a helping hand where needed. She loved gardening and growing beautiful flowers and in prior years, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, playing the organ and singing in the church choir. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Jennis Sluder and Dennis Lanning officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Jake Buckner, Doug, John and Joe Embler, Billy, Larry and Buddy Hensley and Bruce Redmon serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
