Emma Lou Clark

April 3, 1942 — November 13, 2023

Candler – Emma Lou Queen Clark, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2023, at her residence.


A native of Jackson County, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late James Alvin Queen and Minnie Mae Lindsey Queen, and wife of the late Wayne Robert Clark.


Mrs. Clark had many friends that loved her very much, and she will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking for everyone she loved.


Surviving are her daughters: Lora Proffitt, and Brenda Whitmire and husband Marvin; step-daughter, Brandy Brown and husband Vincent; grandchildren: Amanda Whitmire, Christopher Whitmire and wife Chrissy, Kyle Whitmire, Brighton Brown, and Zayden Brown; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Margie Nicholson, Avanell Wyatt, Evadean Dillard, Eve Bailey and husband Lawrence, and Martha Lewis and husband Bill; brothers: Wayne Queen and wife Kathy, and James Queen; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.


No services are planned at this time.
