Elmer Southerland

Asheville Elmer Lewis Southerland, 80, of 20 Emma Hills Drive Lot #20, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2014. A native of Haywood County, he resided in Buncombe County since the early 1960s. He was formerly employed with Beacon Mfg Co and was a member of Emma Church of God. He was the son of the late Louis Washington Southerland and Annie Melton Southerland. Surviving are his wife, Norma W. Southerland, whom he married May 19, 2001; sons, Randy Southerland and Mark Bradley; daughter, Melissa Southerland; step sons, Chuck and Walter Barker and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Emma Church of God with Revs Lewis Melton, David Ingram and Charlie Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
