Effie Hyatt

Asheville Effie Mae Miller Hyatt, 86, of 3 Lower Bucks Drive, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from the City Hall where she served as an Elevator Operator for over 20 years and was a member of State Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Hyatt was the daughter of the late Albert Hascue Miller and Margarette Louise Stewart Miller and the former wife of the late Robert Lane Hyatt who died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Pat White and Lou Ellen Caison; sisters, Gay and Louise and brother, Fonda. Surviving are her daughter, Hazel Hyatt Mills, with whom she made her home; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to come to Mrs. Hyatt's Memorial Service at 2PM Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Beaucatcher Mountain. Mom, as Dad always said, he would walk slowly so you could catch up with him. You were a great mother and grandmother, we love you
