Edward Capps

Old Fort Edward Rollo Capps, 80, of 469 Maple Drive, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Mountain Ridge Wellness Center. He was a native of Buncombe County, served in the NC National Guard and was a former Long Distant Truck Driver. He was the son of the late Franklin Rollo Capps and Louise Mimms Capps and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Capps Twilley. Surviving are his wife, Sarah R Capps of the home; daughters, Sharon Capps Sheppard of Cary, Pamela Capps Hensley of Columbus, OH and Tanya Capps Mooring of Black Mountain; 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Old Fort United Methodist Church with Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 72 Lees Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Anders-Rice Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting Mr. Capps' family.
