Edna Randall Carter

Black Mountain - Edna Randall Carter, 82, of Occoneechee Ave. passed away peacefully at her home Monday, November 21, 2005. She was a native of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Mabel Greene Randall. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Spurgeon Carter; brothers, Robert and Douglas Randall; sisters, Evelyn Duckett and Leslie Buckner. Surviving are her brother, Hollis Randall and wife, Barbara of Asheville. In addition to her brother she is survived by her sons, Richard Randall and wife, Kay of Anacortes, WA, Ronnie Carter and wife, Ellen, Bill Carter and wife, Darlene and Jimmy Carter and wife, Kathy all of Asheville; daughters, Helen Styles and husband, Marshall of Simpsonville, SC, Joyce Ammons of Black Mountain, Sue Gibson and husband, Gary of Swannanoa; special family member, Barbara Carter; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Shelton officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Skyland. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
