Edna Mae Murray

Gaffney, SC - Edna Mae Murray, 87, of 274 Little Egypt Road, went home to be with her Lord on the morning of Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at her residence after an extended illness. A native of Buncombe County, she had lived the past five years in Gaffney, to be closer to her family. Mrs. Murray loved to knit and sew, and enjoyed tending the flowers in her garden. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Rushie Jenkins Marlowe and the wife of Hansel G. Murray, who passed away February 3, 1983. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Roy Marlowe, and a sister, Alma Grant. Surviving are her three daughters: Jo Ann Ramsey of Gaffney, Barbara Cavanaugh of Litz, PA, and Darlene Murray of Gaffney; two sons: Jerry Murray of Liecester, and Grover Murray of Houston, AR; five sisters, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev Clifford Phillips of Gaffney officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
