Edith Woody Young

Asheville - Edith Virginia Woody Young, 80, formerly of 22 Oakley Dogwood Drive died Thursday November 7, 2002. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Hal Burton and Georgia Haynes Woody and the wife of the late Otha Paul Young, Sr. Surviving are her sons, Rev. Paul Young, Jr. of Bristol, Tn. and Dale Ledbetter of Asheville; Daughter, Vicky Jednak of Bradenton, Fl.; sisters, Melba W. Williams and Walene Treadway both of Asheville; brothers, Hayden M. Woody of Ann Arbor, Mi. and C.R. Woody of Garden City Mi.; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Paul Young, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
