Hot Springs – Edith Gregg James, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021, at The Parker Community in Greenville, SC. A native of Hot Springs, she resided in Hendersonville and Leicester for over 50 years before moving back to Hot Springs in 1999. Mrs. James retired from Berkely Mills (Kimberly Clark) in 1991. She was a member of Hot Springs Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gideons Madison County Camp. Mrs. James was a daughter of the late Philmon Marshall Gregg and Mary Lawson Gregg. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee James who passed away December 26, 2006; daughters: Judy Parker and Phyllis Elaine Mars; son-in-law, Roy Parker; sisters: Geneva Etherton and Mamie Lovin; sister-in-law, Delores Owens and great-granddaughter, Trinity Faith Smith. Surviving are her step-daughter, Sheila Autrey; step-son, Willis James; son-in-law, Dale Mars; special sister-in-law: Frankie James; grandchildren: Karin Repass (Doug), and Kristin Moffitt King (Mike); great-grandchildren: Rachel Repass, Seth Moffitt, and Bethany Moffitt; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Fairview United Methodist Church, 202 Fairview Loop, Hot Springs, NC 28743, with the Rev. Micky Church and Rev. Robert Leon James officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Gideons International, Madison County Camp, PO Box 1182, Marshall, NC 28753.
