Ed Pinner

November 17, 1931 — October 30, 2010

Candler - Edwin Franklin "Ed" Pinner, 78, went to be with his Lord Saturday October 30, 2010 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was an Asheville Businessman for over 50 years. He was a member of Asheville Wesleyan Church for most of his life, where he had served as Treasurer, Sunday School Class Superintendent, Youth Group Leader and served on the visitation committee. He was also a member and past president of the West Asheville Kiwanis Club. Mr. Pinner was a son of the late Roy Avon and Sadie Lee Garland Pinner and was also preceded in death by daughter, Jackie Sams and sister, Clara Bradford. Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Mona Lee Howard Pinner of the home; children, Randy Pinner and wife Debra of Hendersonville, Carroll Sams and wife Carolyn of Candler, Doris Stultz and husband James of Murrells Inlet, SC, Gladys Foster and husband Dan of Candler, Lisa Sharpe of Candler, Laura Turner and husband Rodney of Leicester and Lola Sharpe of Candler; 12 grandchildren including Justin Pinner and Liana Pinner both of Hendersonville and Anthony Thomas of the home; 16 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Betty Allen of WV and Mary Sue Foster of MD and brother Raymond Pinner and wife Judy of FL. Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Little and Rev. Tom Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
