Ed Lemon

February 9, 1939 — August 11, 2014

Asheville - Edward Alfred Ed Lemon, 75, of Asheville, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at Asheville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. A native of Washington, DC, Mr. Lemon had resided in Buncombe County for over 40 years. He retired from the City of Asheville as an inspector, and was a member of Westwood Faith Baptist Church. He was also a member of Nichols West Asheville Lodge, Asheville Scottish Rite, Land of the Sky Shriners, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Lemon was the son of the late James and Marie Gsell Lemon. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Joe Lemon. Surviving are his wife, Bobbi Lemon; children: Cindy Hommes, Debbie Runyans, J.D. Redmon, Teresa Young, Rick Redmon and wife Elaine, and Marti Gregg and husband Ted; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Baird and Rev. Jim Stroupe officiating. Burial will follow in Skyview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 2:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
