Easter Jane Hendrix

Alexander Easter Jane Bishop Hendrix, 81, of 1004 Grandview Rd. passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Nottaway County, VA and a resident of Madison County for most of her life. She was a Homemaker, devoted Mother and a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Hendrix was a daughter of the late Jesse Andrew and Bertha Queen Rice Bishop and wife of James Wilburn Smokey Hendrix who passed away April 30, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ida Lee Bishop and brothers, Thomas Jackson Bishop, Curtis Ulus Bishop, Clee Othor Bishop and James Ople Bishop. Surviving are her children, Nancy Annette Hendrix and John Varno Hendrix (Marie) both of Alexander and Martha Willette Hendrix Sedelcek (Gary) of Stanfield; sister, Asaleen Bishop Rogers of Asheville; grandchildren, Jonathan, Kimberly and James and great grandaughter, Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Dillon and Rev. Kenneth Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Grand View Baptist Church Cemetery, Madison County. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
