LEICESTER - EARL FREEMAN, 69, OF 505 SLUDER BRANCH ROAD, DIED SUNDAY MAY 27, 2001 AT MOUNTAIN AREA HOSPICE. A NATIVE OF MADISON COUNTY HE HAD LIVED IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY SINCE 1961. HE WAS A FARMER AND THE SON OF THE LATE CLIFFORD AND LOUISE PAYNE FREEMAN. HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A DAUGHTER, DONNA JEAN FREEMAN. SURVIVING ARE HIS WIFE, WILMA JARRETT FREEMAN OF THE HOME; DAUGHTER, DEANA GARDNER AND HUSBAND, SCOTT OF FAIRVIEW; BROTHERS, CHARLES FREEMAN, FRED FREEMAN AND GENE FREEMAN ALL OF LEICESTER AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11 A.M. WEDNESDAY IN THE CHAPEL OF ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME WITH THE REV. CHARLES PHILLIPS AND MR. JACK SMITH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE AT NEWFOUND BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS 6 TO 8 P.M. TUESDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME. TO REGISTER ON-LINE GO TO THE FUNERAL SCHEDULE AT www.andersrice.com.
