Dot Reece

Candler Carrie Dorothy Dot Reece, 81, of Sunflower Drive, went to be with her Lord Monday, November 19, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center. A native of Henderson County, Mrs. Reece had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a beautician by trade, and was a very active member at Stoney Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Reece was the daughter of the late William Fletcher and Ethel Sprouse Ward, and the wife of the late Lester Noah Reece. She was also preceded in death by her son, James William Reece; sisters: Ann Davis and Edith Benfield; and brother, James Ward. Surviving are her sister, Stella Burke; sister-in-law, Helen Neubert; children: Barbara Almendinger and Randy, Diane Maute and Bob, Susan True and Ron, and Pamela Knighten and Phillip; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Stoney Fork Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Massey and Rev. Garnett Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 PM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
