Dorothy Sluder Hensley

Leicester Dorothy Louise Sluder Hensley, 88, of 1593 Bear Creek Road, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 1974 from American Enka Corp following 30 years of service and was a member of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hensley was a daughter of the late Mark Sluder and Mary Alberta Israel Sluder and wife of Richard Harrison Hensley who died December 26, 1992. Surviving are her sister, Cora Fay Rash and husband Millard of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Fox and Rev. Paul Sluder officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
