Dorothy Parker Griffin

Cincinnati, OH Dorothy Parker Griffin died quietly in Cincinnati on June 29, 2005 following a long illness. She was born February 26, 1920, to Mr. and Mrs. John Milton Parker of Henderson County and was preceded in death by 4 siblings. She lived in Asheville until 4 years ago, where she worked for Drs. Corcoran, Shuford, Moser, Crews and Elmore. She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Woodrow P. Griffin of Cincinnati; daughter and son-in-law, Bettie and Nelson Watts of Cincinnati; son, Woodrow P. Griffin, Jr. of Asheville; grandchildren, Parker Watts and wife Byrd of Marion and Alison Watts Palmer of Breckinridge, Colorado and great grandchildren, Griffin and Anson Palmer of Breckinridge and Adelene and Samuel Watts of Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating followed by a graveside service at Lanning-Pittillo Cemetery in Fruitland. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
