Dorothy "June" Hugg

Asheville - Dorothy June Sayles Hugg, 67, of 30 Harmony Lane, went to be with her Lord Monday, February 19, 2007 at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Square D and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, and will be greatly missed. June was the daughter of the late Zeb and Eckford Williams Sayles. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Lee; step son, George Hugg; sisters: Mary Jo Herman, Doris McMahan, and Charlotte Ledford; and brothers: Hollis, Graham, William, Bobby, Charles, and Alford Sayles. Surviving are her husband, George Tommy Hugg, of the home; son, Edward Lee and wife Andrea of Asheville; step-son, Ray Hugg of Douglas, Wyoming; sisters: Colleen Meadows and husband Harold and Peggy Sharp and husband Mac, all of Asheville; brothers: Aubrey Sayles and wife Mabel of Leicester, and Perry Sayles and wife Mary of Taylorsville, NC; best friend, Carolyn Evans; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Donnie Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Skyview Memorial Park.
