Dorothy Holt

Weaverville Dorothy Craig Holt, 65, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 12, 2016 at her home. A native of Polk County, Mrs. Holt had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a 1969 graduate of AC Reynolds High School, and retired as a telephone operator from AT&T in 1989, and continued to work at Sonopress until her health began to decline. She was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church. Mrs. Holt was the daughter of the late Buster and Mary Sue Craig, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Miller; and brother, Bruce Craig. Surviving are her husband, Jackie Holt; sons: Richard Holt and wife Jennifer, and Timothy Holt and wife Mechelle; grandchildren: R.J., Jackson, Courtney and Chelsea; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Christine Osbourne; brothers: Donald and Doyle Craig; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
