Asheville – Doris Marie Jones Parker, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Madison County and resident most of her life in Buncombe County. She retired in 2004 from Slosman Corporation where she served as Traffic Manager, formerly worked as a waitress and was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God. Mrs. Parker was the daughter of the late Grady Jones and Edna Massey Jones and was the wife of William Charles Parker who died March 5, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Silver; sons, Jeffrey B. Parker and Barry Charles Parker and all six of her siblings. Surviving are her sons, William Gary “Bill” Parker and wife Shirley and Phillip Bryan Parker (Kathy) and daughter, Susan Merrill and husband Don all of Asheville; son-in-law, Tommy Silver of Candler; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Crossroads, with Rev. Dr. J. Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Paynes Chapel in Marshall. The family will receive friends from 10:15 to 11:15 AM Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to: Crossroads, 20 South Bear Creek Rd, Asheville, NC 28806.
