Doris Henderson

Belton, SC – Leila Doris Solesby Henderson, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 2, 2021 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she had resided in South Carolina for the past 27 years. She was formerly employed with Walmart, and was a member of South Side Baptist Church in Piedmont, SC. Mrs. Henderson was the daughter of the late Doc Hilliard Solesby and Agnes Cornelius Rice Solesby. Surviving are her husband whom she married November 4, 1951, Robert “Bob” Henry Henderson of the home; children, Ann Parker of Greensboro, Pam Henderson of Mars Hill, Bobby Henderson, Jr., Chester L. Henderson and Brad Henderson (Elaine) all of Belton, SC; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeremiah Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
