Fletcher - Doris Lillian Baker Spencer, 94, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 25, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Spencer was a native of Algona, Iowa and a resident of the Asheville area since 1955, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a professional seamstress for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late George Dewey Baker and Grace Blanche Davis Baker and was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Willard Spencer who died August 16, 2003; daughter, Georgia Kay Bennett; sister, Ruby Maxine Baker and brother, Boyd Clare Baker. She is survived by her sons, Richard Spencer and wife, Darla, Rev. Dr. Larry Spencer and wife, Mary Ann and Timothy Spencer and wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Kelli Worley and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Richard Spencer, Tracy McLaughlin, Patti Spencer, Annette Spencer, Angelia Spencer, Steven Spencer, Deanna Ward, Timothy Spencer, Jr., David Spencer, Jeremiah Spencer, Bethany Ownbey and D.J. Worley; great-grandchildren, Shannon Chancy, Allison McLaughlin, Tyler McLaughlin, Richard Spencer, III, Virginia Spencer, Amy Pressley, Rylie Spencer, McKenna Spencer, Addison Spencer, Ayla Spencer, Andrew Spencer, Addeley Spencer, Journey Spencer, Sierra Spencer, Aryal Spencer, Guinevere Spencer, Isaac Spencer, Marybelle Spencer, Shelby Worley, Olivia Worley, Charlie Worley, Michael Janes, David Janes and Kayla Janes; great-great grandchildren, James Chancy, Maggie Jane Chancy and Memphis Elaine McLaughlin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church with her son, Rev. Dr. Larry Spencer and Pastor’s of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 11AM to 12 Noon Tuesday prior to services at the church. Burial will be at a later date at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.
