Donna McKinley

Asheville – Donna P. McKinley, 88, entered into her heavenly home to celebrate with The Lord Jesus and her family while at her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

A native of Yancey County, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Floyd Henry Parker and Truly Lenora Gilbert Parker. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Elizabeth Lenora Halet and Eva Mae Hatcher; and brothers: William Parker, Arthur Parker, and Paul Parker.

Donna retired from the Asheville Housing Authority after many years of service.

She wanted nothing more than to know that all her family and friends know The Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and studying the bible daily.

She is survived by her daughters: Belinda McKinley London and husband Jim, and Debby McKinley; son, Michael Edmund McKinley; beloved grandchildren: Ronnie Marc Fender, Jason Dwayne Fender and wife Lyla, Joe Parker Cole, and Michael Christopher McKinley; beloved great-grandchildren: Katie Fender, Sarah Fender, Parker Cole, Piper Cole, Legend Fender, Filicity Sky McKinley, and Ethan Gauge McKinley; beloved great-great-grandson, Jace Singleton; brothers: Ronald Parker, Bobby Parker and wife Lyndia, Clarence Parker and wife Wilma, and Gilbert Parker and wife Marissa; and by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022, with her grandson, Jason Fender officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 till 11 AM at the funeral home and following the service on Saturday at Donna’s house.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

A special thank you her daughter, Debby McKinley, for all her loving care over the past several years as her mother’s caregiver.
