Donald Victor Kee

December 25, 1937 — April 17, 2021

Donald Victor Kee, a resident of Asheville for many years, went to be with our Lord April 17, 2021. The funeral service will be held Friday April 23, 2021 with 1:00 pm viewing and 2:00 pm service at Discovery Church, 110 Johnston Blvd, Asheville, NC. He will be laid to rest at Black Mountain State Veterans Cemetery. Donald was born December 25, 1937 in Memphis, TN to William Henry Kee and Sarah Costa Kee. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and twin brother Ronald He is survived by his wife Janice, 1 step-daughter JanMarie Holzberger and husband Bill, step sons Douglas Carpenter and wife Angelique, and Kenneth Carpenter and wife Sherry, sixteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly as his own. He is also survived by a nephew Douglas Kee and wife Donna, and two nieces, Janet Hobbs and husband Charles and Pam Lawing and husband Van. After graduating from Asheville High School and his service as an airplane mechanic in the US Air Force, Donald worked 10 years as an electrical technician at the former Enka Plant and 20 years at Western Union where he retired due to ill health. He loved God, his family, his church family and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He also loved the fact that he was a twin with Ronald and that their birthday was Christmas Day. He told everyone he met he always knew what he was getting for Christmas - another year older! Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mr. Kee's family.
