Donald Thomas

Asheville Albright Donald Thomas, 79, of Springdale Avenue, went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 12, 2012. A native of Erwin, TN, Mr. Thomas had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Thomas and Sons Masonry. Mr. Thomas was the son of the late Henry and Nola Tipton Thomas. He was also preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Thomas, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Sprinkle. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Lillie Mae English Thomas; daughter, Wilma Sprinkle (Jobe) of Asheville; sons: Donald K. Thomas, Johnny Fred Big Johnny Thomas and John Henry Little Johnny Thomas, all of Asheville; grandchildren: Chris, Adam, Jonathan, and Kerrie; great-grandchildren: Autumn, Ashton, Daidrien, Kaiden, Taliyah, Ethan, Lane, Jennifer, Hailey and Summertime with whom he raised; sisters: Pearl Ann and Jean, both of Erwin, TN; and brother, Gerald, of Erwin, TN. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 15, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home, and at other times the family will be at the residence.
