Donald E. Moore

Asheville – Donald Eugene “Donnie” Moore, 79, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Raymond Bruce Moore and Gladys Swann Moore and was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christian Moore and brother, Richard Bruce Moore. He was employed for over 30 years as a Heavy Machine Operator with the Buncombe County Landfill. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freddie Loretta Rice Moore of the home; daughter, Pamela Moore; son, Michael Moore and wife Darlene; grandchildren, DeShaun Moore and wife Briana, Daryn Moore, L.J. McClain, III and Austin Moore; great-grandchildren, Maddyx, Titan, Lailah and Julian; sisters, Barbara Moore, Frances Juday and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Riverside Baptist Church, Woodfin. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
