Don Wayne Burrell

Candler Don Wayne Burrell, 69, of Candler passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a son of the late Geter Wayne & Reva Mae Rogers Burrell. Mr. Burrell retired in 1998 from Square D, was former Manager of Eckerds Drug Co. and a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. He was in the first graduating class in 1955 of North Buncombe High School and was an avid Hunter and loved Gospel Music. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Mildred Wyatt Burrell of the home; sister, Eva Burrell Corn and husband, Bobby J. of Candler; brother, Danny Burrell of Weaverville; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with his special nephew, Rev. David Burrell and the Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with special friends and family serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
