WEST ASHEVILLE - DOLORES ESTORA MOORE RICE, 68, OF 21 MOUNTAIN TERRACE ROAD, WAS REUNITED WITH HER HUSBAND, THE LATE CHARLES C. RICE, MAY 18, 2001, ON THEIR 49TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. A NATIVE OF TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA SHE HAD RESIDED IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY MOST OF HER LIFE AND WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE LEMUEL FREDERICK MOORE, SR. AND DELILAH BEATRICE HAMRIC MOORE. DOLORES HAS BEEN ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE METHODIST CHURCH FOR MANY YEARS AND A MEMBER OF ABERNETHY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WHERE SHE WAS A FORMER CHOIR MEMBER AND SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER FOR FIRST AND SECOND GRADE. SHE WAS TREASURER OF THE A.M. GROUP OF UNITED METHODIST WOMEN OF ABERNETHY. HER OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE FORMER VICE PRESIDENT OF THE HY-HOPES CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMENS ASSOCIATION AND CHARTER PRESIDENT OF THE HY-LITES CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMENS ASSOCIATION. DOLORES WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE AS TAX PAYER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FOR 15 YEARS. FOR THE PAST 18 YEARS DOLORES HAS BEEN EMPLOYED BY IWANNA, INC., KATHY CORN, PUBLISHER. SHE MANAGED THE CLASSIFIED DEPARTMENT UNTIL HER RETIREMENT IN 1999. SHE THEN BEGAN PART TIME HOURS AS AD TAKER AND WAS STILL WITH IWANNA, INC. SURVIVING ARE HER SON, CHARLES DEE RICE OF GARNER; BROTHERS, LEMUEL AND R.B. MOORE BOTH OF ASHEVILLE AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. WEDNESDAY IN THE CHAPEL OF ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME WITH THE REV. DR. PATRICK WELCH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN FOREST LAWN MEMORIAL PARK. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 7 TO 9 P.M.
