Dollie Rice Chambers

Weaverville - Dollie Rice Chambers, 88, died Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at the Brian Center, Weaverville. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late John Ark and Sallie Raines Rice and was the wife of the late Rev. Fred Eugene Chambers who died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jean Swanger who died February 24, 2002, her sisters, Essie Louise Mathis and Margaret Parham, and her brother, William Bill Rice. Surviving are her 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, and her sister, Edna Riddle of Fairfax, VA. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Stephenson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
